NEWS: Big success of Prague students at the 18th Vis Moot

Law Faculty students - team of Kristina Bartoskova, Rene Cienciala, Veronika Kinclova and Rachel Tosnerova - who represented the Charles University at this year's 18th annual prestigious global competition in a simulated arbitration Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, saw significant success.

At these so-called "Olympic Games of International Trade Law", the Prague Team of above mentioned students is ranked among the top hundred universities in the world. The Team gained the 78th place of the total 254 teams and the students were only ten points out of a total 1200 possible from participating in the closer finals (of 64 teams). Since last year, Prague Team scored an impressive step forward of almost 80 places.

A team led by Professor Monika Pauknerova, Dr. Vladimir Balas and coaches Mgr. Stanislav Kuba, Dr. Zbysek Kordac and Dr. Andrej Stanko left far behind not only the teams from Brno and Olomouc, but many teams of famous foreign universities as well. This year's result of the Prague Team is the best placement of the Czech team in the last few years of the Vis Moot competition. In addition, the Team was awarded with the Honorable Mention within the Martin Domke Award.
